The main weapon of the majority of the Empires kingdoms is the slug rifle. It is cheap and simple to manufacture, ammunition can be cranked out in the most meagre of factories and even the most amateur of gun smiths can maintain and repair it.
Whilst it lacks the power of more modern weapons, the Empire is unwilling to waste credits on equipping mere conscripts with such advanced weapons.
