Coast 2 Coast

Come July I am embarking on another adventure. With Gemma Sparks, Tobias Selwood and Ryan Waight we are setting off on the Coast 2 Coast walk. 190 miles of unbrided and feral countryside with nothing but our waterproofs and whisky laden hipflasks to get us through. As part of this challenge we are asking for sponsorship - don't worry, you aren't paying for our holiday, every penny goes to the British Heart Foundation.

So please sponsor us by donating to https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/CoastToCoastJuly

You can follow us, by reading my blog at http://urbanleadjunkie.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Travel.

We will be hiking from one side of the UK to the other, through the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. You probably know these areas due to there appearance in the following movies:
  • 28 Days Later
  • Snow White and the Huntsman
  • Withnail & I
  • The Night has Eyes
  • Tread Softly Stranger
  • An American Werewolf in London
The North York Dales are also apparently famous for hobgoblins. Fear not for us though, one look at Toby and they'll probably start worshipping him as some kind of deity. I've seen enough of Return of the Jedi to know how this works.

Oh, if anyone has a spare drone, I will be updating this blog with our location throughout each day whenever we get signal. So please regularly drop ale, fine wines and especially whisky throughout our adventure. If there is a prolonged gap between updates then don't call mountain rescue, they used to mine lead in Roman times and signal is about as rare as received pronunciation up in the grim North.
