Exodus Wars January Challenge

Greetings esteemed readers,
I trust that you all survived the relevant celebrations and are ready to progress with 2011.
Steel Crown Productions has elected to host a monthly challenge to the TacComms community, contestants will have until the 25th of each month to submit an entry. From the 25th we'll open up a vote to the community as to which entry they prefer based on the months criteria. The winner will then receive a prize of their choice (any blister) from the online store with free shipping. Only one entry per person can be submitted for judging.
I'll get this typed out in neat and stickied but for now:
The January Challenge: Janus - the two faces of miniatures
Playing with the fact that we are moving from one year to another, we've come up with this particular challenge.
Starting with two identical 6mm scale miniatures (from any manufacturer, not just SCP) paint and convert the miniatures to represent polar opposites of each other. We request that the community votes for the best example of this concept, not just the best painted. Our main stipulation is that we must be able to see that the models were originally the same form. In the case of infantry, it would need be a complete base with one or more figures, again, whichever infantry figures you use they must be identical squads before you start painting/converting.
Examples might be:
  • Two Games Workshop Space Marine Land Raiders, one Chaos and one Imperial
  • Two Exodus Wars Guild MBT's, one Guild and one Edenite
  • Two Games Workshop Imperial Guard Leman Russes, one Ork and one Imperial
Other ideas might not even be faction based, you might opt for:
  • Environmental opposites: An advanced vehicle that has been converted for both aerial and submersible purposes.
  • Age opposites: A brand new advanced version of a vehicle and a rusted, mothballed version lost in time.
  • Camo opposites: Desert camo versus winter camo - especially if the vehicle shows conversion work enhancing it's suitability for the terrain.
Anyway chaps - have fun and I look forward to seeing your entries.
Please submit all entries to my exoduswars.com webmaster address before the 25th. There is no restriction on posting up entries on TacComms prior to the voting to get feedback or show off :p, however we do ask that your miniatures have been started and finished in the month of January. This is as much about getting people motivated to paint as it is to gawp at some awesome miniatures.
